“Welcome Strangers” has been selected to be part of the Palm Springs International ShortFest 2020. The in-person festival is cancelled due to Covid-19, but a selection of films will be available for screening online from June 16 - 22, 2020.

The 2020 Hot Docs Festival has gone online. From May 28 to June 24, Ontario, Canada audiences can stream documentary premieres, watch pre-recorded filmmaker Q&As, partake in virtual live events, and vote for the audience awards—all on hotdocs.ca.
“Welcome Strangers” will be part of the 2020 Mountainfilm Festival in Telluride, CO. This year’s event will be virtual with online screenings available due to Covid-19.
The film’s director, Dia Sokol Savage, won the Telluride Mountainfilm 2020 Women in Film Award. It recognizes “an outstanding woman in the film industry who shows excellence and indomitable spirit either in front of or behind the camera.”
